I purchased 2 First and Business round trip tickets to Dublin, Ireland on April 22, 2014 on the AMEX site with my Gold Premier Awards Card. Lowest Price totaled $7,128.78. The dates August 29th returning Sept. 13th,2014. Tonight April 26, 2014 I went online on the AMEX site to show my wife what the other carriers were charging. To my amazement the exact same flight that I purchased, 4 days ago now totals $5,588.78. I called customer service and explained my situation and requested they honor the lower price. Their answer was to cancel the flight I had purchased and then purchase the lower price listed. The problem is they want to charge me $450.00 cancelation fee plus service charges for each ticket. This will total close to $950.00. This is idiotic since this is the same exact flight, same departure and destination, same airline, same flight numbers, the same exact flight. Why would I cancel the flight only to book it again? All I am requesting is that AMEX honor the lower price and take care of their cardholder. After my initial purchase, AMEX wasted no time sending a survey online which I wish I had back now. Does AMEX care about their card holders or is it tough luck Charly, you shouldn't have looked at the website again? This was my first time using AMEX Travel and may be the last.
